I was really interested in the concept of a corset that engaged other senses as you wore it. The corset is made from a special reversible sequin fabric, which has an oplescent color shifting effect from blue, to pink, to ivory. You can flip the sequins over with your hands to reveal their white reverse sides and create designs in the fabric. It's actually a lot of fun to play with the sequins as you wear it, which makes the corset a really tactile experience as well as eye catching. When you shift the sequins they make satisfying rustling sounds as well.
One of the more challenging things about this corset was finding a way to sew the casings, but not obstruct the ability to turn over the sequins across the entire surface of the corset. I made the fashion layer a floating layer and did my best to trim the sequins away from the seam allowances, and attached invisible casings to the internal coutil and twill layers. The inside is finished with another floating layer of cotton with a corset print and hand bound in dupioni. I got exactly the effect I wanted an a smooth result when worn. It's a really fun, attention grabbing, piece to wear.

This is such a fun piece, and you can tell that you really worked hard on the construction - it's incredibly well made and it must have been very fiddly to do so I a take my hat off to you.
