I consider myself to be a fairly advanced seamstress and at an intermediate level for corsets have made a handful of them. I've gotten pretty good at inserting busks and making sure they are neat and evenly lined up, but I've got one problem that I can't figure out.

On a corset that is intended to be tightlaced, how do you keep from having that little gap in front that will show a sliver of skin or undergarment?

Any advice would be appreciated.

is an example of a front modesty panel... I'm sure someone else has some actual info though.

Hi Chisaifirefly,
take a look at my article and you will see photo of a version of modesty placket that is easy to make.
