This is a sort of funny question, but (in the current scheme of things) where does a finished corset go? Obviously a finished bra would go in Bra Making, but "Hooray this is my newest piece" doesn't really belong in either Corset Patterns, Pattern Drafting & Fitting or in Corset Construction, Fabrics, Tools & Materials.

This is actually also a problem for girdles and mid-century shapewear as well.

I propose for the mid-century stuff that it could go in with bra making (Bras and Girdles, perhaps?) because a lot of the techniques and materials will be the same (moreso than corsets, it seems to me - stretch and synthetic fabrics will probably be a lot more common).

I'm a little stumped about corsets, though. I really like having the two fairly specific categories for making (patterning/fitting versus skills/materials), and finished work doesn't really fit in to either. On the other hand, I really don't want to add yet another board, especially one so very specialized. I guess if I had to pick, I would add it to construction: Corset Construction, Materials, Tools, & Finished Work.

Excellent question, and a good suggestion. I like the name changes and have just made those to the boards.

I was talking with Cathy about collapsing the two Corset boards into one, it would just be Corsets, and have all patterns, fittings, construction, tools, materials and finished work showcase on one board. Any objections?

None whatsoever. It will fit better with the other boards, and if someone's topic winds up shifting from patterning to construction, it won't need to be split up or moved.

I think having one board for corsets would work well :) I like having the two, but sometimes questions can span both areas, particularly with people just starting out, and two boards may be a bit intimidating for them to have to consider where to ask things without "getting it wrong" (hope that doesn't sound patronizing, I just know what I am like on forums myself
