Well Hello to all you lovely ladies (and laddies), from Edinburgh.
I have been making bespoke curtains and soft furnishings for (cough) almost (cough cough) thirty years now. As old age races towards me and I have no pension to speak of, I decided it was time to train in something a bit more...well...lightweight!
Huge rolls of fabric and curtains 10 metres wide are taking their toll and I need something to occupy my figures that i can work on from home.
I have a wonderful workshop and all the equipment I need so I have decided to get into bespoke corsetry.
I went on a fabulous weekend to Venice for the Carneval and we all made our own costumes, I just loved making the corset, so since then I have been immersing myself in books and all the wonderful information available from those generous enough to share their knowledge online.
I have been on a weekend course in Glasgow which really helped to get me going and am now on corset number 5, still got problems here and there but will soon be trying to get to grips with pattern cutting and developing.
As a side issue I am making up little packs to send to friends to make a little survey of all the women I know to find out what sizes women actually are!
Looking forwards to lots of chat in between running the workshop here...
Love to all. Gillxxx
