Fast work, Wildebee! Yes, the point is that if you sew everything flat, once it's put around a body the layers will not play nice with each other. You can solve the problem in one of three ways - use fewer layers (my solution), make sure the outer layer(s) have lots of give, or plan ahead by roll pinning.

I'm new too, and if you are like me you've been all over this whole website reading everything and there's just so much here you can get lost. I think you are looking for the reference to "turn of the cloth" and "roll pinning" that are addressed in the article The Silverado Corset Start to Finish Part 6. You will find this article under The Complete Corset Makers Course which is in the Articles section. I'm starting my first corset soon and I remembered this section well as I had to read it several times ti understand the concept. So I knew right where it was when I saw your question. Have fun!

I have so enjoyed exploring this site since I took the plunge and joined up.

On looking through I found an article on dealing with wrinkles formed when there is several layers in the construction. I am sure it described working on a dummy to stroke or roll the fabric over and pin it so all layers behave as one. This means the top layer would have further to go on the round body than the lining fabric.

I am afraid that I didnt bookmark the page and have failed to find it again after going through the articles all day. Can someone help me find this, or was I dreaming. :side:
