Probably a double-sided fusible, so you can fuse the back of the silk and then fuse that to the coutil.

Thank you, may :cheer:

What do you think is better in these cases: glue the silk+fusible to the coutil or let them unattached and try to fix the turn-of-cloth?

I've seen a walking foot, but I thought it was just for heavy fabrics... in fact if it makes the upper and lower layer move toghether without shifting I'm going to try it ASAP, thanks for the tip!

Yeah, by attaching fusible interfacing to the silk. Also you need to sew carefully, I would suggest using a walking foot for this material.
But no matter on ripples, the corset looks very cute on your lil sister. :)

Hello all!

This is the corset I made for my lil'sister.
She is very thin and always trying to gain weight without success, so she wanted a corset to emphasize her (almost non-existent) curves and , first and foremost, to improve her sadly depleted cleavage (less than a A cup, in fact).

I made this one using a lightweight silk brocade over one layer of white coutil, with interior bone casings. I stabilized the silk brocade using removable spray glue and attaching it to the coutil, but that the fabric turned out with ripples nonetheless... darn!
Apart from this I am quite satisfied with the result: I like the color scheme, the way it emphasizes her hips without reducing the waist too much and, most of all, the fact that I was able to create a push-up effect for the cleavage (aided by internal kidney-shaped paddings ;) ).

I am trying to find out: what should I have done to avoid those pesky ripples? maybe I should have added one layer of fusible fabric..
I would like to find a way that doesn't involve ulterior boning, because I'm trying to focus myself on corsets that are as much lighweight as possible
