Last year I purchased a grommet/button press machine from Goldstar in Los Angeles. I bought it to make covered buttons and it was useless. In an effort to try and get some value out of my $100 plus shipping investment I decided to try using it for its other function, grommet setting. I purchased a #00 grommet die and a supply of #00 grommets from Goldstar and they arrived today. I am frustrated beyond belief because the machine doesn't seem to set grommets any better than it makes covered button! I am hoping that someone might have a similar machine and be able to give me some pointers. The grips on the grommet head do not press out evenly -- some consistently do not get pressed down and those that do feel quite rough. I would be very grateful for any suggestions and help.
