It's fun and does come together nicely. I think when I make it up for real I'll keep some kind of contrast in those panels (though it may be less than the stripes - tea dye a darker shade of coutil or something), they're just so pretty.

It is very short on me. I have a lot of rib and not a lot of squish, so it sits a bit oddly. I'm not sure what will happen if I try and raise the top edge. At the current angle of flare, it might just bag out and not support anything. A bit of padding could help things there, or a ruffled corset cover to smooth things out.

I've not tried this but I am really tempted to try it as I'm interested in the transitional era between Edwardian and titanic era at the moment, and it looks very lovely in the recent article.

Edit: pictures are showing now, it looks lovely!

Has anyone else tried this pattern? How did it go?

I've made this pattern up (to the mockup stage, so far). I used the version on Couturiere Parisienne and scaled it up full size using the boxes. The only piece I had real trouble with was E, whose edges simply aren't the same length as the edges of B, which it's supposed to fit inside.

I had some fun with a striped upholstery remnant as contrast. As you can see, the top edge is quite too large, but otherwise the whole thing actually fits fairly well. I'm sure it stretched out a bit (the tan fabric is just retired canvas pants), but it's a place to start. I used the bone casings as marked on the pattern.

2. Laying out the bone casings with masking tape.

3. Front and back views. The bow hides the lacing gap below the waist, which is about 1". I did not use the extra triangular hip section, but it may be a good idea for the next version.
