I have seen a few beautiful mesh corsets and have been wondering what mesh has been used.

Background - as a bellydancer and a plus size woman, we sort of need to bare our middle. So, I am trying to figure out some type of corseted bodysuit in a beige mesh that I could wear with my costume. As I am mostly a fusion dance, the corseted bodysuit would be part of the costume. I need something that covers but can hold me in as well. I have a dancers bodysuit but that turns me into a combination between the Michelin Man and The Blob (umm, no). So I would like to try to retain some kind od shifted hourglass!

Thanks
Kayla

I don't think there is a mesh designed specifically for corsetry, but I believe Sew curvy sell the stuff which is being used for sheer corsets lately :) hope this helps.

Sew Curvy has a STRETCH mesh fabric: I don't think it is good for corsets; it is more for bras and elastic lingerie like girdles...

I have found this sender: www.hartsfabric.com/cotton-mesh-fashion-62565.html

I think the cotton mesh fabric is not stretch and is better than nylon mesh or rubber for perspiration...

My mistake Waspman, I just re read and it is stretch, it says good for in stretch panels of corsets in the description and I'd only skimmed it previously and seen 'corsets' in the list of uses :)

Contour Corsets use mesh quite a lot, and they use Polyester mesh (amongst others) some of it even looks like Zweigart canvas (which is predominantly used for embroiders/tapestry/cross stitch canvas. so you could try googling polyester mesh and zweigart canvas and see what it comes up with in your area?
