Hello and welcome to the first ever Foundations Revealed corset sew-along!

If you are planning to participate, go ahead and introduce yourself here - but don't feel you can't start threads on this board. If you have a question or want to post some pretty pictures, please feel free to make a new post.

I would also be interested in hearing your opinions on images - we could do all the image hosting on the forum (presuming we have enough space) or I could start a Flickr group for everyone! Or so I understand. Are most people here on Flickr? Would that be more or less useful than posting to the board? Tell me what you want!

How is this all going to work? There will be four articles, one every month. Here on the forum I'll be breaking down the long articles into bite-sized chunks and offering advice and support for the project.

Hello, seems like I will be first to apply here :) When do we start?

Here is a link to my fb page with my works for everybody who haven't seen it before: www.facebook.com/May.Bizzare.Corsets

And a representational photo:

What about making a gallery on Pinterest? Seems like it's more popular than Flickr now and it's easier to stick the photos and share them, but Flickr also sounds great.
There are some problems with showing pictures on the board - I don't see them until I left the comment or press the refresh button.

To be honest, I really don't like Pintrest. The UI is not great and it doesn't really lend itself to an archive - there's no organization below the "board" level, and no way to tag or label or find images once they've been on your board for some time. It seems to work great for lots of people, but it doesn't really work for me.

Well ... I will try to enter this sew along :) !

I'm french so apologies for my english, I will try my best to be understandable in my question if I have some :) !

I'm reenactor so I made corsets in the past but not only, and I feel like an "absolute beginner" when I take a look at may_bizarre corsets :P

You can see some pictures of my first attempt with scaled pattern here : 18th century stays from Norah Waugh

and the other one for a 1910 corset

Others were from Simplicity ou TV Patterns :)

Now I'm ready to start the sew along :) ! thanks FR !! :P

PS : don't know why but I can't add profil pix :/

Just read the article and would like to give this a go. The pattern looks lovely and it will be nice to have some "company" while I am sewing. :)

Wow, so excited for this. I'm going to measure up my niece tonight, and go through a few ideas for the finished article with her. This will be the first time I've made a corset for someone other than me too! Thanks for the article, gonna be hard to wait another month for the next installment though!
