It was the file size that was the problem, 180k. I've just moved the max file size to 200k, so hopefully this will be a little less frustrating in the future.

You might want to check your file size. You are allowed to upload files(gif, png, jpg, jpeg), but the max size is 150 MB, 800px wide and 800px high.
