Hi!
I am never very good at this kind of thing!
I live in Maine, in the USA, but lived in England until 2 years ago. We lived in Coalville, so I used to go and visit the Fashion Gallery at the Snibston museum quite a lot and started out in corsetry by taking a workshop class at the School of Sewing in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. I have since been learning on my own through online resources like this website and Lucy's videos and through lots of practice!

I quit my day job (office admin, bleargh) last year and opened a small sewing business out of my home, mostly clothing alterations, dressmaking and general sewing services. I fix a lot of old men's favorite trousers, jackets and golf wear, take in wedding dresses and hem just about everything, but it lets me sew for a living and also be at home to take care of my little girl and I love it! I have a long term goal of eventually turning the business into full time dress making business, using corsetry to make wedding and formal wear.

Anyway, glad this website is here and glad to be a part of it. I hope it carries on!
